[ yukari hasn't caught feelings. rather, they've slammed into her at full speed and she's still reeling from the impact.

her grin turns into a soft smile. ]

...you really do matter, you know? A lot.

[ minako laughs quietly, looking up towards yukari's face from her position. she knows that she can't argue with that, in spite of how much some small, self-loathing part of herself wants to, even now. ]

I'll take your word for it.

[ yukari sighs contentedly, touching her forehead to minako's. she's been confused about what they are, but this feels...right, in a way. ]

Glad to hear. It's not just my word, though.

Taking your word for that, too. [ her smile softens and she closes her eyes in that position, before pulling yukari in for a kiss. ]

[ yukari knows she is stupid for wanting to be with a dead girl who would always look for someone else. it is reckless and juvenile and puts both of their hearts at so much risk.

but she also recognizes that she feels as if she's drowning each time they kiss like this, and that she might be okay with being pulled under.

she pulls away after a long while, breathless and smiling. ]

You can stay here tonight, if you want. And if you don't, that's okay. You're always welcome, no matter what.

[ there's so much she wants to say. so much that she can't get out of her mind about maybes and what-ifs, might-have-beens and never-weres. hypotheticals that she doesn't dare voice, for so many reasons--not least being how unspeakably cruel she feels it would be to the girl who vowed to always protect her.

she recognizes how unfair this is to yukari. that there's surely no real future in this, and the more invested that they get in this bit of happiness, the worse it's going to be in the end.

right now, though? it doesn't matter. minako breathes out a laugh and nods, even if she feels like she might cry from everything welling up in her chest. ]

Yeah, [ she captures her lips again, for just a second ] I'd like that.

[ there are many things left to hash out, each one more difficult than the last.

but that won't happen tonight. ]

You know, [ lifting her other hand to minako's cheek and stroking it with her thumb, ] I was really hoping you'd say that.

Good! Because I was hoping you'd offer...

[ for once, it's yukari who gives minako a devious grin. ] Anything else I can offer, then?

[foolaround]

You know, I can think of a few things... but there's more space for them in your room, Yukari.

[ she smiles, looking every bit the indulgent, long-suffering friend. like this isn't something she enjoys just as much. ]

You really need it that badly, huh?

[ why is her girlfriend the worst. ]

[ minako can't help it. she breaks into giggles, leaning up to press a trail of kisses from yukari's lips to her jaw.

she pulls back just enough to get to her feet stand up, pulling yukari up with her. ]

I think I left some fun-looking stuff here the last time I stayed over...

[ yukari would like to stay annoyed, but those kisses to her jaw have her smiling. why is her girlfriend the worst and very cute at the same time.

once she's on her feet, she starts leading both of them toward her room. ]

Pretty sure you did.

[ minako giggles, letting her hands rest on yukari's hips and going in for a kiss as she lets her steer them towards the room. it's so easy to fall into this, and for the moment, she wouldn't have it any other way. ]

You're wearing too much, [ she whispers it against her lips while breaking off for air, touching her forehead to yukari's. ] why don't you fix that?

Hm, I dunno....

[ yukari leads them across the threshold and gently pushes minako onto the bed. this teasing back-and-forth was almost her favorite. almost.

she moves to straddle minako's hips, leaning down to whisper in her ear, ] Only if you're willing to give a girl a helping hand.

[ could it be? has yukari takeba found the wherewithal to top?? minako kind of wants to just see where this goes. ]

Always, Yukari. [ her voice comes practically as a purr, and she reaches to start working at her shirt. ]
